Ten Hag is unafraid to lay down the law and discipline the squad but gives a certain sense of freedom to the senior players.
The MEN understands these players are encouraged to lead and be the 'moral bedrock' of the group, which is great given our young squad.
Ten Hag extends this benefit even to those who are not playing often. Tom Heaton (36), David De Gea (31), Cristiano Ronaldo (37), Bruno Fernandes (28) and Harry Maguire (29) are those tasked with his responsibility.
However, one notable exclusion is Phil Jones, who along with De Gea is one of the longest-serving players at the club. The likes of Casemiro and Raphael Varane are also not mentioned.
The MEN says Ten Hag system is clever and has had a positive impact on the overall morale and fighting spirit among the squad.
