Man United have made Jude Bellingham one of their major targets for the 2023 summer window.
As per The Athletic, the Red Devils want to strongly pursue a move for the England international next year.
They will face stiff competition from the likes of Liverpool and Real Madrid for the midfielder but are still going to fight for him.
United’s midfield can receive a major boost for years to come if able to sign Bellingham. Here is how Erik ten Hag can line up his side with him next season.
Option 1: Bellingham as the no.6
Bellingham is a really versatile midfielder who can basically play anywhere in midfield. Due to Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes’ pivotal roles at United, he might have to settle for the no.6 position if he arrives at Old Trafford.
That would see him pip both Scott McTominay and Casemiro out of the team.
Option 2: Bellingham in a midfield pivot
The English midfielder’s natural position is to play in a midfield pivot, perhaps as a more attack-minded no.8. He can even do that at Old Trafford, playing alongside Casemiro to help cover for him defensively.
Christian Eriksen as a no.10 here can be ideal, as he can probably help Bellingham play more further forward and dictate things from a deeper area when needed.
