The Brazilian midfielder excelled in his return to Spain. He consistently ruined Sociedad’s attacks and was very smart with his positioning. Casemiro made 5 clearances, 2 tackles, 2 interceptions and won 6/8 duels to protect his backline from intense pressure.

Playing in an unconventional right-wing position, Bruno had a pretty solid outing. He played a role in the opener, playing a smart header to clear the space for Ronaldo and allow him to assist Garnacho’s strike. Bruno also worked really hard with his backtracking and made 7 possession recoveries and 3 interceptions. Could’ve done better with his crosses, though.

Ronaldo had a topsy-turvy outing in his return to Sociedad. He produced an impressive assist for Garnacho, playing him through on goal with a well weighted pass. But his hold-up play was awry and distribution inconsistent. Had a goal-scoring chance after managing to wiggle through on goal in the first half, but his chipped attempt went over the bar.

A surprisingly erratic performance from the Danish midfielder. He barely had any control or influenc in midfield, failing to create any chance and only having a 77% passing accuracy. Won just 1/5 duels and disposed 3 times.

Van de Beek started his first game of the season and performed like someone with very little match fitness. He had little to no influence as a no.10, failing to create a chance and only having a 69% passing accuracy. Had just 18 touches in an hour and he’ll find it hard to start games in that role going forward.

Well there's no easy ride on this one I'm afraid. We just have to be confident and more determined to win against our opponent. We failed to beat a team like Real Sociedad that were hammered in La Liga just last week. We're going to pay the price if we failed to progress in the next round. But fingers crossed 🤞 hopefully we will get to the next round. The problem we have at the moment is we lack of natural proven goalscorer. The stats showed that we're struggling a bit in front of goal.
