Ronaldo & 5 more: Man United players that have to leave in 2023

Man United are expected to continue strengthening their squad in 2023, as they aim to reach the top with Erik ten Hag.

However, there are certain players that need to be offloaded as they have little to no value to the team anymore. Here we look at the players.

The Portuguese forward has burnt all the bridges with the Red Devils after his explosive interview with Piers Morgan. He’s admitted to not seeing himself at United after January.

After the way he disrespected the club and Erik ten Hag, there is no way Ronaldo can stay. He’s only scored 3 goals in 19 appearances this season and just isn’t good enough to stay anymore.

Since Christian Eriksen’s arrival at United, Fred has seen his role downgraded to a bench warner. He’s only started 7 games this season, and has one goal in 16 appearances.

Fred lacks creativity and doesn’t seem too comfortable with Ten Hag’s style. It’s time United cut their losses with him.

Harry Maguire is now a fourth-choice centre-back at United. His lack of pace and inability to react quickly in a high defensive line is why why he isn’t a regular anymore.

Maguire’s best years seem to be beyond him and he doesn't seem to be improving drastically. It’s better to sell him than keep an £80m player on the bench for most of the games.

Things aren’t going as well for Van de Beek under Ten Hag as he’d hoped for. He still doesn’t appear to be ‘unlocked’ and has produced some really disappointing performances.

Van de Beek doesn’t appear to have that ruthlessness in his game to create major chances or score goals. He’s too safe with his passing and lacks that cutting edge. It’s better to sell him for a profit than prolong his misery at Old Trafford.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has not made a single competitive appearance under Ten Hag. Tyrell Malacia has played at right-back over him.

The gaffer does not rate him and United can’t let a £50m signing rot on the bench. If not in January, the summer window is exactly when Wan-Bissaka must be offloaded.

Phil Jones' contract with United finally expires in 2023. He hasn't played a single game under Ten Hag and is unlikely to ever do so. Just get rid after the season is over.
