Man United have started to accelerate on their work to re-sign Memphis Depay in the January transfer window, claims Spanish outlet Sport.
The Red Devils have gotten down to work to sign the Netherlands forward, who is currently playing at the World Cup.
Barcelona are ready to let him leave in the January transfer window, but have some demands that must be met for that.
They’ll be willing to terminate his contract in the winter window, but only if Depay agrees to forfeit any remaining salary from the club.
Erik ten Hag is reportedly a big fan of Depay and believes he has matured since leaving United.
However, Memphis wants a big salary of €7m from his future club and ideally wants Champions League football – something the Red Devils can’t give him this season.
Depay has only made 3 appearances for Barca this season, scoring one goal.
