Fred for injured Neymar? Brazil coach backs replacement to 'steal the scene'

Fred could start for Brazil against Switzerland in Neymar’s absence due to injury, according to Mirror.

It sounds like an odd replacement but Neymar plays in a deeper role for Brazil, alongside Casemiro and Lucas Paqueta. 

Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes is another option Tite is considering but ‘the belief around Brazil’s camp’ is that Fred will get the nod.

Whoever Tite picks, he backs this player to shine: "Sometimes we see it in the movies where someone who isn’t the star steals the scene".

Fred has 29 Brazil caps which could’ve been more if he hadn’t been handed a doping ban in 2014. He tested positive for the diuretic hydrochlorothiazide, a prohibited substance that can be used as a masking agents for others.
