Man United have recently been linked to make a surprising move for Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata to fix their goal-scoring issues.
Fabrizio Romano has addressed these rumours, as he wrote on his CaughtOffside column: “Atletico Madrid and Manchester United have an excellent relationship but Alvaro Morata is not something being discussed as of now, despite reports.
“I think he has good chances to stay at Atleti until the end of the season, but let’s see if that changes in the next weeks.”
At this point, the Red Devils are unlikely to make a move for Morata in January. In fact, it doesn’t seem like they’ll sign any player in the winter window at all – despite Erik ten Hag desperately longing for a new striker.
Anthony Martial remains the only natural no.9 option for the Red Devils after the untimely departure of Cristiano Ronaldo last month.
