During a recent interview, Marko Arnautovic revealed how Manchester United wanted to sign him during Jose Mourinho's time at the club.
However, after spending £89 million to sign Paul Pogba, he claims the Red Devils didn't have enough money for him.
When asked if Mourinho changed his mind about Arnautovic's abilities - the Special One was less than impressed with the striker while he was in Inter Milan's youth set-up - Arnautovic told Gazzetta dello Sport: "He does, he wanted me when I was at West Ham.
"He told me: ‘How much do you cost?’ And I was like: ‘So, do you still want me?’
"However, his Manchester United side had bought Paul Pogba and didn’t have enough money for me."
United were also linked with Arnautovic recently but a move did not materialise after an outrage among fans.
