Emir of Qatar wants to buy Man United for £4.5 billion but will need UEFA to change its rules

According to The Guardian the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani wants to buy Manchester United.

The Glazer family's asking price is £6 billion but the emir believes £4.5 billion is a more realistic price.

A key component of any potential deal would be the UEFA rules that prevents any one entity from having two clubs in the same competition.

The emir owns PSG through the Qatar Sports Investments group and according to the current regulations he likely would not be able to own Man United as they are close to making it into the Champions League next season.

A possible solution is being sought for this problem and could include asking UEFA to change their rule.
