Casemiro 'prepared' for Brazil captaincy

Casemiro has been confirmed as Brazil’s new captain – replacing Chelsea’s Thiago Silva. "There are several ways of thinking," Casemiro said at a press conference upon the announcement.

"We had Thiago Silva [as captain] in the World Cup but, on my part, I feel prepared. I prepared myself for this and I am thankful for the trust. If it’s another captain, no problem because I know I am one of the leaders and I have complete freedom to speak as a captain before the group."

Varane drops retirement hint

Raphael Varane told GQ Magazine: “I will finish my career either at Real Madrid, Manchester United or at Lens.

"It’s sure that I won’t do another club, but Madrid, it seems complicated. You don’t tend to go back generally. The most likely is that I end in Manchester or Lens.”

Alex Telles eligible to face Man United in Europa League

Alex Telles will be able to face Man United in the Europa League. The Brazilian is currently on loan at Sevillla.

"We can confirm the on-loan defender will be eligible to face the Reds in the two-legged tie, with the first game taking place at Old Trafford on 13 April," read a statement on the club's official website.
