Ten Hag clarifies McTominay's role after four goals for Scotland, drags Weghorst in

“I think Scott (McTominay) can play in many roles, and it's clear, he has scoring capabilities, it's clear,” Erik Ten Hag told reporters at Carrington on Friday.  “We have seen it for Scotland but also this season for us, he is a really good finisher, yeah. “But I see him as a midfielder, so I think I am happy with what Wout [Weghorst] is doing because when Wout is in the team, the team is performing better.”

McTominay scored four goals for Scotland during the last international break. Scott, who has 18 goals in 202 appearances for the Reds, opened his account for the season against Omonia Nicosia in October.

He also netted against Aston Villa in our 4-2 Carabao Cup third round success in M16 prior to the World Cup break.
