Pep Guardiola's first reaction when asked about Man United's poor start to the season

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola gave a brutal response when asked about Manchester United’s start to the season.

Ahead of City’s Champions League match against Red Star Belgrade, Guardiola was asked about United. He chuckled.

“Well they didn’t start like they expected, like Chelsea. But always, they are Man United, and Chelsea sooner or later they will take the rhythm.”

Guardiola was, however, quick to stress that there's plenty of competition. He said: “You know how strong are Arsenal, yesterday at Goodison Park they are exceptional. Liverpool again, the mentality will continue there.”

After a busy summer transfer window that resulted in United bringing in the likes of Mason Mount, Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund and Sergio Reguillon, many expected Erik ten Hag’s men to be challenging City at the top of the Premier League.

However, it has been a horrible start for the Old Trafford club as they have only collected six points out of a possible 15.

City, meanwhile, are top with a flawless record so far.

l agree with you.The person in charge or leader must be honest and no favourism.lf a player is performing well, let him play instead of putting yr favourite player even if he doesn't perform. It looks like ETH is running the team on his way not the way the clubs suppose to be.

Perfect answer, considering the laughing stock we have become! Given the fact that we were not competing in the transfer market one must have been very high to expect we can compete for the title! Based on evidence I’m fearful we can compete with Burnley 😱
