Di Maria tells Garnacho to copy Messi and not Ronaldo — this is not the first time his loyalty has been questioned
Speaking to Argentinian newspaper Ole, Angel Di Maria said: "If I were Alejandro Garnacho, the only thing I wouldn't do is celebrate like Cristiano Ronaldo.
"I would do it like Lionel Messi does. I'll stick with that. Garnacho is a very fast player, he has incredible ability. He is going to gain it with experience.
"Coming to the national team, it is a place where you learn a lot and continue to improve. It helped me a lot to grow technically in every way, it is spectacular.
"Garnacho will grow. When I was young I wanted to make the play 30 times. Over the years you realise that if you do it 10 times, but do it better, it's worth it.
"He has a very bright future. It depends on him, on his head, to be able to handle it. I don't have much to say, there's a reason he's playing for Manchester United."
Garnacho, an Argentinian, is naturally a fan of Leo but Cristiano has always been an idol of his due to their Old Trafford connection and even a brief time together on the pitch.
Garnacho simply considers the Portuguese to be a better player which actually led to Messi unfollowing him on Instagram, something that the winger himself told Rio Ferdinand.
