Premier League prize money: How much did Man United earn for finishing 8th?

The 2023/24 Premier League season ended last weekend and all teams are set for a huge payday. Man United finished in a disappointing eighth position.

But how much will the Reds earn? Well, each place in the Premier League is worth an estimated £3.1million. The top-flight hands out merit payments which are determined by where each team finishes in the table.

Last year, for winning the title, City picked up £62.3million while Arsenal were awarded £59.1million for coming second.

That prize money decreases by around £3million for each position with United getting £56million and Newcastle receiving £52.9million and so on.

This season’s figures are yet to be announced but United should earn far less than they did last year.

Tottenham picked up £40.5m for finishing eight last term, so we expect United to receive something close this year.
