Man United reject Lazio's cheeky opening offer for Greenwood (reliability: 4 stars)

Lazio have opened negotiations with Man United over the possibility of signing Mason Greenwood this summer, claims Gianluca di Marzio.

The Serie A side are trying their best to beat rivals Juventus to the English forward and even pitched their first offer to the Red Devils.

Lazio were reportedly willing to pay €20m transfer fee for Greenwood’s signing. Knowing this would be too low, they also included an interesting clause.

The Italian side were ready to add a 50% sell-on clause on the deal. This would mean under these terms Man United get 50% of any fee Lazio received for potentially selling Greenwood in the future.

However, the Red Devils swiftly rejected this as they want a fee of at least £30m to sell the winger in the summer window.

Man United are hoping to use the money gained from the Greenwood sale to boost their summer budget. The Englishman, who scored 10 goals and provided six assists for Getafe last season, is also open to moving to Italy.
