'He called me saying to come and help the team': Vallejo reveals his decision to join Wolves

Real Madrid's loanee admits having no regrets over joining Premier League side after receiving a phone call from Nuno Espirito Santos, Wolverhampton manager.

The 22-year-old has already starred in two outings for Wolves, helping the team on both occasions - a 3-2 win away at Torino on Thursday night and a clean sheet over FC Pyunik as Wolves continue their Europa League quest.

And now that Wolves are ready to face Burnley, a game in which Vallejo might feature, the 22-year-old reveals the details of his transfer.

"Real Madrid strongly recommended I should come to the Premier League to improve my football,' said Vallejo.

"I think it was the right decision. I feel really wanted here. Nuno called me saying he needed me to come and help the team.

"I've been very happy in my first month. I played in a three-man defense at Real Zaragoza and Eintracht Frankfurt (loan). At Wolverhampton, I tend to play more on the right side but I can genuinely play in any of the three defensive positions. Truth is I feel very at ease in Nuno's system."
