German football may be further postponed after Bundesliga 2 side forced to isolate 2 players positive for coronavirus

German football faces a serious dilemma after two players of second-tier side Dynamo Dresden tested positive for COVID-19.

The entire squad and coaching staff of the club have been put into isolation for two weeks.

Dynamo Dresden's first post-quarantine fixture was scheduled for Sunday, May 17. However, as things stand now, they are unable to play their game against Hannover 96.

"Due to the quarantine measures, the SGD will not be able to travel to Lower Saxony for the away game on Matchday 26 as planned," the club's statement reads.

It means that the German Football Federation (DFB) may have to reconsider the date of the restart.

Earlier, the DFB announced that two top-tier divisions would resume next weekend.

Clubs in Germany returned to training in groups in mid-April.
