Hakimi ranked among most expensive African players in history following Inter Milan switch

Following the Inter Milan move he completed on Thursday, Achraf Hakimi has become one of the most expensive Africans in the football history.

The Moroccan completed a €40m (plus €5m in variables) switch which ranks him 7th on the list of the most expensive Africans in football.

Interestingly, he's also the most expensive African player to have ever left Real Madrid.

Hakimi joined Madrid's academy aged eight. He had made 17 first-team appearances for the Whites before joining Borussia Dortmund on a two-season-long loan in 2018.

The 21-year-old's heroics with BVB earned him a move to the Nerazzurri. The right-back was a regular starter for the Bundesliga side, having made 45 appearances in which he netted 9 goals and provided 10 assists.
