Speaking about Andriy Lunin’s future, Ukraine national team manager Andriy Shevchenko said (as quoted by Marca): “[Lunin] has great potential and that's why he's returned to Real Madrid.
“I think he's ready for this challenge, both at his club and at the national team.
“He has played a couple of games with us and has shown the level he has. I have great confidence in him.”
Lunin is all set to play as the No.2 to Thibaut Courtois in Madrid’s first team next season and will probably get some game time as well.
While he does face a near-impossible task of disposing the Zamora trophy winner from last season, the 21-year-old proved his potential with an impressive loan spell at Real Oviedo last season and will look to give stiff competition for our goalkeeping spot.
