Isco and 4 more players whose sales can help Real Madrid finance Haaland move

Los Blancos' interest in Erling Haaland seems genuine, yet the striker's release clause of €75m will only kick in next summer. That means Real Madrid will have to pay close to €100m or even more than that if they want to get him ahead of 2021/22 season.

So we decided to take a look at which players Zinedine Zidane can transfer-list this summer to scrape enough funds for Haaland. All prices courtesy of Transfermarkt.

Martin Odegaard - €40m

Yes, yes, we know he is a young talent - but he's also a talent who doesn't play much under Zidane. With 2 years left on his contract, now is the time to sell and maximize profits while our hand is still strong.

Dani Ceballos - €32m

Can we possibly offload him and Odegaard to the same club they are on loan at for the market price? If we do that, it will be one hell of a deal - like Odegaard, Ceballos simply doesn't appear to be in Zidane's plans.

Gareth Bale - €20m

On loan at Spurs, out of favour in Madrid, one year left on his deal. €20m seems decent under those circumstances - certainly better than nothing + his massive wages for another year.

Isco - €20m

Even a truckload of injuries to first-team players wasn't enough to convince Zidane that Isco could be the answer. With one year left on his deal, now is the time to part ways.

Marcelo - €10m

The left-back is ageing and is firmly behind Ferland Mendy for the left-back position - as he should be. Certainly not what he once was - the time has come to salvage at least something from his sale.
