Ceferin: 'Super League clubs & their players have to be banned from all competitions'

Previously, a joint statement by UEFA, FIFA, La Liga, the Premier League, Serie A and others threatened to ban the founding members of the European Super League from national leagues and international competitions. Their players would be prohibited from playing for their national teams.

Now UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has confirmed the intention to take legal action against the 12 clubs including Real Madrid as soon as possible.

"We're still assessing with our legal team but we will take all the sanctions that we can and we will inform you as soon we can," Ceferin said at the press conference, as quoted by The Athletic.

"My opinion is that as soon as possible they have to be banned from all our competitions and the players from all our competitions."

The European Super League was founded by 12 clubs, including Real Madrid. Los Blancos president Florentino Perez is the competition's first chairman.
