Speaking about the formation of the Super League, UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin wrote: “The players that will play in the Super League will be banned from playing in the World Cup & Euros. They will not be allowed play for their national teams.”
This comes on the back of massive news about the formation of said Super League - in which Real Madrid are involved as one of the founding members. Florentino Perez will also be the chairman of the new league.
It's a hard line to draw for UEFA - and FIFA, by the looks of it - but ultimately damaging for those organizations. Top players usually play for top clubs, most of which are involved in the Super League, which means World Cup and the Euros will be utterly short on quality players if Ceferin delivers on his threat.
