Hakimi: 'Real Madrid was my home... They maybe have right of first refusal for me'

"Real Madrid was my home," Achraf Hakimi told El Chiringuito as quoted by Marca. "I would've loved to stay there and fight for my place... but the club decided otherwise.

"I can't blame Zidane or the board. I guess Real Madrid maybe have the right of first refusal for me."

Hakimi joined Inter Milan last summer for 40m after spending two seasons on loan at Borussia Dortmund.

The 22-year-old has scored 7 goals and provided the same number of assists in 33 Serie A games this season, helping Internazionale claim the title for the first time in 9 years.

The Morocco international is considered one of the best right-backs in the world right now, and there are talks about Inter potentially needing to sell him because of the pandemic.

The right of first refusal means that if Inter accept a bid from another club for Hakimi, they must inform Real Madrid about the bid, and if the Whites match that bid, Inter have to accept it too.

Do you think Madrid should try to re-sign Hakimi this summer? How much would you spend to bring him back?
