Our XI

Courtois - 7.5

Couldn't do anything when Werner scored. Produced a huge save when Havertz was released one-on-one with him and another one parrying Kante's close-range shot. Overall, was the best Real Madrid player on the pitch.

His work rate can't be questioned but in a tight game like this, he has to put the ball inside the net. His first attempt was brilliantly saved by Mendy. The goalkeeper produced another magnificent save but Benzema should have placed the ball more accurately.

Hazard - 6

Was twisting and turning and running at the opposition but lacked space to produce some real impact.

Ramos - 5

It wasn't the captain's day. Looked nervous and got a needless yellow card. Lost some crucial duels to Havertz and Pulisic when the Blues played long balls.

Failed to offer anything going forward slotted at wing-back and was subbed off midway through the second half. It wasn't his fault but in the end, we rate his individual performance.

Nacho - 4, Militao - 5, Mendy - 4; Casemiro - 5, Kroos - 5, Modric - 5.

Subs

Valverde - 5, Asensio - 5.5, Rodrygo - n/a, Mariano - n/a.
