Tottenham Hotspur intends to extend Gareth Bale's loan deal by one year (relaibility: 4 stars)

Gareth Bale is wanted by Spurs for an extra year, according to reports making the rounds in Spanish media.

Marca claim the Welshman has impressed Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and the club are preparing to offer him another loan deal.

Bale was reportedly headed back to Madrid at the end of his loan spell in North London with Jose Mourinho not really rating him.

However, Mourinho's departure has paved a way for Bale to shine. The 31-year-old recently bagged a hat-trick for Spurs - his first in nearly nine years.

Altogether Bale has scored a decent 14 goals in 30 games for Spurs this season.

Bale's contract with Madrid expires in the summer of 2022.
