According to Sky Sports, Chelsea and PSG have submitted €60m bids to Inter Milan for Achraf Hakimi.
And while it is a huge sum of money for a defender, here is why the former Real Madrid man is worth every penny of these €60m and probably even more.
1. Goal contribution
The 22-year-old provided 9 assists and scored 7 goals in 42 Serie A and Champions League games this season.
He was a crucial cog in Antonio Conte's machine that ended Juventus' hegemony in Serie A.
Full-backs are expected to provide assists through crosses but they're not supposed to score goals—yet Hakimi netted more strikes than some forwards.
2. Age
As mentioned before, Hakimi is just 22 years old. Normally, full-backs enjoy their peak years between 24 and 29 (Atletico's Trippier had a fantastic season and he's 30)—it means Achraf has many years at the top ahead of him.
Sign him for €60m now and you can expect to get good money for him in 2026 or 2027. Landing him now is a good investment.
3. Fantastic stats
In addition to his goals and assists, Hakimi offers a lot in the build-up and possession phase.
He is one of the best full-backs when it comes to moving the ball forward—either through carries or passes.
Achraf has a good pass accuracy rate of 83.0% but his best quality is perhaps his ability to find space for himself in the opposition's final third: he is among the best full-backs in the world for progressive passes received and touches made in the opposition's penalty box.
Should Madrid try to get Hakimi back for €60m?
