Odriozola not in Ancelotti's plans, likely to leave Real Madrid this summer (reliability: 5 stars)

Alvaro Odriozola is not in Carlo Ancelotti's plans for next season and beyond, and will be looking to leave Bernabeu this summer, according to Onda Cero.

The right-back is now third in the pecking order behind Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez - who has recently signed a new 3-year deal - and his wages (reportedly around €6.7m annually) are deemed too high for such a bit-part role.

Real Madrid are looking to trim the wage bill this summer by selling a number of fringe first-team players and Odriozola is one of those facing the axe. His agent has already started looked for a new club for Alvaro.

There's interest from Italy (Inter and AC Milan) as well as in Spain (Real Sociedad and Athletic Bilbao). It will be fascinating to see how much Real Madrid manage to sell a player they once paid €30m for.

However, we are a bit sad it ends this way. Odriozola was good in flashes this season, there was a sense he was simply not fully trusted by Zinedine Zidane despite that - at one point the Frenchman even preferred to field Fede Valverde at right-back.
