Karim Benzema is going to the Euros as part of French national team and former Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is sure the striker is going to be a hit because of the unselfish way he plays the game.
"The best compliment you can give to Karim Benzema is that Cristiano Ronaldo was in love with him at Real Madrid," Mourinho wrote in his Sun column.
"And for Cristiano to be in love with another attacking player means he does a lot for Cristiano - and he does a lot for every attacking player that plays around him.
"Karim is probably the only No 9 I know that is not selfish in his game. His vision is amazing, the way he enjoys his football is to play with lots of freedom."
Benzema has been Madrid's best player for 3 straight seasons and scored 30 goals in 46 appearances in 2020/21, despite Los Blancos generally struggling to create and score.
He's certainly an elite goalscorer too but we absolutely agree with Mourinho that this is kinda secondary to Benzema's style. He does indeed play for the team, finishing off moves is just part of his game.
