Snubbed for no reason? How Nacho compares to Spain's Euro 2020 centre-backs

Spain kicked off their Euro 2020 campaign win an uninspired 0-0 draw against Sweden on Monday. La Furia Roja had 85 per cent of the ball but couldn't find a goal in the end.

However, the debate around some of Luis Enrique's squad choices continues to rage after the tournament's start. The Spaniard's decision to snub Nacho becomes even more questionable when you look at the defender's stats.

The Real Madrid centre-back played the second-most minutes last season compared to Aymeric Laporte, Pau Torres, Eric Garcia and Diego Llorente. The 31-year-old also has the joint-most assists (2), clean sheets (13) and leads the way in interceptions per game (1.7).
