Real Madrid will look to kick-start their 2021/22 Champions League campaign with an away win against Inter Milan.
However, with several key squad members out with injuries, Carlo Ancelotti will have to think hard before deciding which players to field. Here are some of his options.
Option 1
Real Madrid XI: Courtois - Carvajal, Militao, Nacho, Alaba - Casemiro, Valverde, Modric - Hazard, Benzema, Vinicius Junior.
This line-up would be identical to that against Celta Vigo, with the only exception being David Alaba starting ahead of Miguel Gutierrez at left-back. Luckily, the Austrian hasn't been discarded completely for the game.
Option 2
Real Madrid XI: Courtois - Carvajal, Nacho, Alaba, Miguel - Casemiro, Valverde, Camavinga - Asensio, Benzema, Vinicius Junior.
Modric seems to be having some sort of muscle overland, the coach has confirmed, and will skip the training the day before the match. If he's not ready, Camavinga could take his place as he looked very promising during his debut.
Another change would be Alaba replacing Militao at centre-back since the Brazilian looked rather shaky last time, while Miguel continues on the left flank.
Finally, Asensio could replace Hazard on the right side as the Belgian doesn't seem too comfortable over there.
Option 3
Real Madrid XI: Courtois - Carvajal, Militao, Nacho, Miguel - Casemiro, Valverde, Modric - Rodrygo, Benzema, Vinicius Junior.
If Alaba is not ready to play from the start, Ancelotti might have to rely on the same backline as last time.
Besides, Rodrygo could be an option to start on the right wing for more dynamism.
