After an embarrassing result against Sheriff Tiraspol, Real Madrid need to redeem themselves with a good result and solid performance against Espanyol.
The first step in that direction would be picking a good line-up. Here are some of Carlo Ancelotti's options.
Option 1
Real Madrid XI: Courtois - Valverde, Militao, Alaba, Miguel - Casemiro, Kroos, Modric - Hazard, Benzema, Vinicius Jr.
This line-up would imply several changes in comparison to that against Sheriff.
First of all, Fede Valverde would be starting at right-back ahead of Nacho.
In midfield, meanwhile, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos are added. Interestingly, Ancelotti has already confirmed that the German will play from the start against Espanyol.
As for the attacking line, it would stay the same.
Option 2
Real Madrid XI: Courtois - Nacho, Militao, Alaba, Miguel - Valverde, Modric, Kroos - Rodrygo, Benzema, Vinicius Jr.
Another option for the right-back position is Nacho. Valverde, in this case, could replace Casemiro in midfield, as the Brazilian hasn't been at his best recently.
Rodrygo could take Hazard's spot on the right to offer more width and speed.
Option 3
Real Madrid XI: Courtois - Vazquez, Militao, Alaba, Nacho - Valverde, Modric, Kroos, Vinicius Jr. - Benzema, Hazard.
Ancelotti has opted for the 4-4-2 formation for the second half of the match against Sheriff, and he might decide to use it from the start this time. Valverde and Vini Jr would be the two wide midfielders while Hazard starts upfront with Benzema.
As for the problematic right-back spot, the coach might give Lucas Vazquez a chance, at last, while Nacho plays on the opposite flank.
