KVC Westerlo are fighting for promotion to Belgian top-flight. The club's sporting director Hasan Cetinkaya says he wants Eden Hazard to play there.

"I think I can consider Eden Hazard a friend, as I first met him when he was at Lille," Cetinkaya said in an interview with Het Nieuwsblad, as quoted by Marca.

"He promised me that one day he would play for Fenerbahce.

"To get him to come to KVC Westerlo would be more difficult, but you never know. He might come and finish his career here."

Before online haters unleash their 'Belgian second division is exactly his level' jokes, let's say that Hazard remains a world-class player and it's too early to give up on his Madrid career.

He's just 30 years old and still has a lot to offer, despite losing his starting spot to Vinicius and Rodrygo.

Hazard has made just 11 appearances for Madrid so far this season, only five of them were starts.
