Karim Benzema 'will not be forced' to play against Barcelona on Sunday, reports Marca.
His chance to participate in El Clasico is currently assessed at 40 per cent. The Frenchman is training inside the facilities and is yet to resume team training.
Carlo Ancelotti's idea is to replace Benzema with Mariano if he doesn't make it to the Clasico, as per Sergio Quirante.
Mariano hasn't started a single game since January 5 when Real Madrid faced Alcoyano in Copa del Rey.
