Some Real Madrid fans are actually worried amid the club's lack of signings this summer – especially while watching Barcelona spend big despite being in huge debt.
One of them, nicknamed tarekelsakka on Reddit, has his say on the situation.
"I know Tchouameni is a great signing for us, but we were already stacked in midfield, so it didn't really address the issues we had.
"I was hoping for a solid striker, as well as a world-class full-back (especially a right-back), but we got none of that. Carvajal really stepped up in the last part of the season but he's been injury-prone and inconsistent overall. Mendy is also quite injury prone, but I feel safe knowing that Alaba can easily cover that position when needed.
"We don't even have a pure right winger that can score goals, we're depending on Rodrygo, but if we're being honest, his best position is actually left winger which Vini rightfully occupies.
"We let Jovic go and now Mariano fu**ing Diaz is our only like-for-like replacement? Absolutely embarrassing. I appreciate the beautiful things we did last season, but we can't let the glory of the past blind us.
"I know I am being a bit pessimistic, but the idea of Lewandowski up there gives me chills. They [Barca] could be playing like s**t, but he'll score a game winning banger out of nowhere at any time.
"One upside is that the league will finally be more competitive and Barcelona will be back where they belong, I've had enough of the fu**ing Premier League dominating everything and I'm happy that world-class players are choosing La Liga over the PL."
Indeed, while our best eleven is capable of winning the Champions League once again, some things about the current squad depth are worrying. What if Carvajal faces a dip in form again? What if Benzema gets sidelined for a month or two?
