Madrid did nothing to deserve the second goal: Sevilla's coach Sampaoli

"It was a loss (of the ball) that caused us to lose a game in which we were dominant in the second half," Sevilla's coach Jorge Sampaoli said after losing to Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu.

"The feeling is one of sadness, of anger in the locker room. The game was totally under control, more for us than for Madrid.

"We had all the conditions met to score one more goal after the tie. These teams do not forgive you when you make a mistake. We played as equals against a tremendously hierarchical rival. We lost due to specific errors, the result is not what one expected due to the development of the match.

"I think the second goal came without Madrid making merits to achieve it, but it’s Real Madrid."

It seems that Sampaoli is one of those coaches that believes that there is a superior and inferior way of playing football. And maybe that is the reason why he's coaching Sevilla and not a better team.

What Madrid did to deserve that second goal was play out a perfect vertical counter with timely passes and runs.

And while we are at it, what did Sevilla do to deserve the second goal Sampaoli is talking about?
