Lewandowski beats Valverde for La Liga Player of the Month award

 has won the La Liga Player of the Month for October award.

, Rayo's Isi and Valladolid's Sergio Leon in the final rankings.

Valverde scored three goals and provided an assist in six La Liga games in October. Lewandowski's La Liga stats last month are 6 matches, 5 goals, 2 assists.

The Barca man obviously beats the Uruguayan on stats but it's still weird that he won the award, not Fede. Fede's goals were stunning, not simple tap-ins like most of Lewandowski's strikes.

Following yet another month full of impressive performances, 

The Uruguayan has received the 'Jugador Cinco Estrellas' or the 'Five-star player' from Mahou. 

The winger ended up with 4 goal contributions (3G,1A) in 8 fixtures last month, including stunners vs Barca and Sevilla.

Another well-deserved award to Fede's credit.

Valverde names special reason why he wears no. 15 – Madrid fans will love it

"Why do I wear number 15? It's because we're bringing the 15th to the Bernabeu in June," 

 said after Real Madrid's 5-1 win against Celtic. 

Valverde may only be joking but it's true that 

 titles. With his help the 15th title could arrive this season. 

On his performance against Celtic, Valverde said (h/t Daily Mail): 

"I get tired, but my objective is to continue scoring goals and supporting the team.

"I like to strike it on the laces, it's my best shot, but I also sometimes like to hit it with the inside of my foot when I feel confident and today I was lucky enough to catch the ball right. 

"They always joke with me that one day I'll break the ball," Valverde added. 

Valverde scored one and assisted another in the big win for Los Blancos last night. 

The Uruguayan has now registered 8 goals and 4 assists this season for Madrid.
