Revealed: Real Madrid's 3-step plan to improve midfield next summer

Real Madrid want to prevent their midfield from downgrading over the summer and even plan to strengthen their area. Here is their three-step plan, as per Marca.

1. Extend Luka Modric's contract. The Croat's current deal expires at the end of the season and despite his age, Luka feels ready to continue. Madrid will offer Modric a new contract if he keeps up the level until the end of the season.

2. Convince Toni Kroos not to retire. The 32-year-old considers retiring next summer when his deal runs out. The club wants Kroos to continue for at least another season and have already sent Toni their proposal.

3. Sign Jude Bellingham. The young English midfielder is meant to add a spark to the squad as he combines creativity and physicality. Madrid believe that Bellingham will become one of the best in his position in the near future.

Sorting out Modric's future should be an easy task while Kroos might require a bit of convincing since he currently favours retirement. As for Bellingham, Real Madrid will compete with Liverpool for this signing but won't go all-in.
