If everything goes according to plan, Real Madrid will end up playing 11 matches in 35 days. In the presser ahead of the encounter against Villarreal, Carlo Ancelotti was asked how he plans to manage the squad during this period.
"We are used to playing every other three days. We are managing it well. The squad returned from the World Cup in decent shape. We have had some small problems, but most of the players are fit. We're going well," the coach said.
Ancelotti also revealed his plans for the upcoming game against Villarreal.
"We will play a fresh team tomorrow, most of those who did not play against Cacereno. It will be a team close to what we had last year.
"Then, we will decide the lineups game by game based on who is doing better. The Super Cup is a very important trophy for us and we will try to field the best possible team," he added.
Ancelotti rested several key players in the cup game mid-week. We should expect the likes of Karim Benzema, Luka Modric, and Vinicius Junior and others to play from the start tomorrow.
