Real Madrid are likely to offload a number of players in the summer with some players in the last year of their contract while others are barely given any playing time by Carlo Ancelotti.
Here are jersey numbers that are likely to become vacant at the end of the season when such players are expected to leave the club.
No. 5. Unfortunately for Jesus Vallejo, he keeps slipping down the pecking order among defenders at Real Madrid. A new club may give him time to show his quality next season.
No. 6. Nacho is coming to the end of his Real Madrid contract at the end of the season. It's possible that the club lets him go, after all, Ancelotti barely plays him.
No. 7. The problem with Eden Hazard is that he's no longer even considered by Ancelotti. The Belgian has hit rock bottom and only a new club can give him the minutes he so desperately needs.
No. 8. Real Madrid would prefer to keep Toni Kroos at the end of the season but the German may just decide to hang up his boots. We can't tell from his body language.
No. 11. If Real Madrid gets a good offer for Marco Asensio they'll most likely let him go. The Spaniard is yet to agree on a deal with the club and that may or may never happen.
No. 16. Alvaro Odriozola's situation at Real Madrid is quite unfortunate. The defender hasn't even played a single minute for the club this season. A departure at the end of the season is almost inevitable - just to save his career.
No. 23. Ferland Mendy has not been impressive in recent games. He barely contributes in attack and is often suspect defensively. Real Madrid are likely to sell him this summer if they get an offer.
No. 24. The thing with Mariano Diaz is that he likes it at Real Madrid and doesn't want to leave. But the Dominican striker will become a free agent in the summer and he'd have no choice but leave then.
