Olympiacos terminate Marcelo contract as left-back plays just 10 matches in 6 months

Marcelo joined Olympiacos as a free agent last summer after his contract at Real Madrid expired.

Half a year later, the Greek club terminates the left-back's contract by mutual consent. The reason behind the decision is not stated but it might have to do with Marcelo's inability to settle in at the new club.

The 34-year-old made just 10 appearances (2 starts) for Olympiacos since his transfer and scored three goals.

Fabrizio Romano (5 stars) reports that Marcelo will now go back to Spain with his family and listen to offers from other clubs.

The Brazilian is currently injured and there were rumours that Real Madrid would let him train at their facilities in the meantime. However, the credible Mario Cortegana has disproved it.
