Talking to Reuters, Ednaldo Rodrigues, the president of the Brazilian Football Federation, confirmed the interest in Carlo Ancelotti for the vacant coaching position.
"We are going to have faith in God, wait for the right moment and see if we can make it happen as we look for the new coach of the Brazilian national team. We will be very ethical in our approach and respect existing contracts," he said.
"Ancelotti is unanimously respected by the players. Wherever I go in Brazil, in every stadium, he is the coach our fans want the most."
Just in case, Ancelotti has a contract with Real Madrid until 2024. However, there are increasing rumours that Florentino Perez will replace the coach in case the Merengues finish the season trophyless.
According to Jorge Picon (4 stars), Ancelotti would be open to coaching Brazil but his priority is to continue at Santiago Bernabeu.
