Real Madrid legend picks his favourites to win Champions League – ignores Madrid

Real Madrid's legendary winger Luis Figo does not believe his former team will retain the Champions League title they won last season.

"My favourite teams to win the Champions League this season are Manchester City and Bayern Munich," Figo said.

However, said he cannot completely write off Real Madrid as "they can always be counted on".

Last season Real Madrid were written off in the race for the Champions League when they faced PSG, Chelsea, and Manchester City en route to the final. Los Blancos overcame all and even came from behind to win in most of those games.

The scenario is looking similar once again. Real Madrid faces Chelsea in the quarter-final and could battle either Manchester City or Bayern Munich in the semi-final if they can beat the Blues.

Louis Figo is playing his cards well. I believe he is doing this so that City and Bayern would be caught off guard and allow Madrid to sneak inn and grab the cup

If we had sorted our fullback problems, I would've put Madrid in that list. Our weakest links Carvajal and Mendy or whoever is a makeshift in those positions. Most of our opponents are aware of that weakness, it's not like last season.
