Real Madrid to extend Diaz contract and present him as new signing — Fabrizio Romano

Real Madrid are counting on keeping Brahim Diaz as a main part of their squad for next season. According to Fabrizio Romano, Los Blancos will extend his contract and present him to fans like a new signing before the start of the new season.

The contract being offered to Diaz will keep him at Real Madrid until the summer of 2027. All the paperwork is ready to be signed, Romano says.

Diaz did remarkably well during his two-year loan spell with AC Milan helping them win the Italian league and reach the Champions League semi-final in his second year. He scored 18 goals and 15 assists during his 124 appearances for Milan.

Reports in Spain claim that Real Madrid intends to replace Marco Asensio with the 23-year-old attacking midfielder, who can also play on the wings.

Real Madrid signed Diaz from Manchester City in 2019 for €17m. However, he's never really been a part of Los Blancos' first team ever since.
