Real Madrid decide against signing new centre-back (reliability: 5 stars)

Real Madrid have decided to not sign any centre-backs despite David Alaba's season-ending injury, reports Marca's Jose Felix Diaz.

The club rely on Antonio Rudiger and Nacho, as well as on Aurelien Tchouameni who could slot into the centre-back position if needed.

Multiple sources said Real Madrid could decide to recall Rafa Marin from his loan at Alaves. However, the Whites don't want to break the agreement with the La Liga side, according to the source.

Carlo Ancelotti reportedly asked Real Madrid to sign a new centre-back in January. Just like when he wanted the club to get him a high-profile striker, his request will seemingly be rejected.
