Contract expiring in 6 months: Ancelotti reveals Real Madrid plan for Modric, Kroos, Nacho

"Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Nacho [whose contracts expire in 2024] will decide themselves what to do," Carlo Ancelotti told the media ahead of the game against Mallorca.

"Their future is in their hands," the boss adds.

The aforementioned players and Lucas Vazquez will become free agents in the next six months with their contracts set to expire.

Apparently, Real Madrid intends to renew their contract if they perform well this season and agree to say.

Madrid's policy for such players will be to offer a one-year extension. As a rule of thumb, Real Madrid doesn't offer contracts of more than a year to players who are aged 30 and over.

The good news for the players is that their performances have given fans a lot to cheer about. Kroos for one is La Liga's assist leader with six so far and Vazquez recently scored a winner. Meanwhile, Modric continues to perform tirelessly even at 38.

The big suspect is Nacho who has picked up two red cards already this season.
