Real Madrid set historic defensive record WITHOUT two starting CBs and first-choice goalkeeper

With Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao sidelined due to ACL injuries at the very beginning of the 2023/24 season, many feared it's all over for Real Madrid. As if that wasn't enough, in December they suffered another blow when David Alaba was also ruled out with the same injury.

However, against all odds, Los Blancos have not only weathered the storm but also emerged stronger than ever.

Without their starting centre-back pairing and a first choice goalkeeper, Carlo Ancelotti's men are six points clear on top of the league standings.. They've only conceded 16 goals after 26 La Liga games, setting a historic record at this stage.

This defensive strength brings to mind the iconic 2011/12 season when Jose Mourinho's Madrid conceded just 32 goals in the entire domestic campaign.

With their current form, who knows? Maybe this record will fall in May, too.
