According to multiple sources in Spain (h/t Carrusel Deportivo), La Liga are set to introduce a new rule that prevents players from surrounding the referee. Only the team's captain may approach the ref during matches to protest.

This rule is already being trialled at Euro 2024. While it will be difficult to follow, players must learn to behave or their will be many yellow cards and red cards for dissent.
