Real Madrid receive Alphonso Davies boost as Bayern Munich cancel contract offer (reliability: 4 stars)

As per Sport, Bayern Munich have withdrawn their contract extension offer for defender Alphonso Davies. They are growing increasingly frustrated with him.

The Canadian full-back demanded wages of around €16m-per-year to consider signing an ew contract. Bayern were ready to offer a maximum of €12m-a-year.

As a result, the Bavarians have been forced to take back their offer. This poses as good news for Real Madrid, who have been strongly linked to Davies for quite a few months.

The Canada defender has reportedly agreed on personal terms with Los Blancos. Real Madrid are hoping Bayern will meet them in middle ground over his transfer.

Los Blancos are not willing to pay over €25m-€30m for Davies’ signing. If unable to get a deal done in that range, they’ll be willing to let the transfer go and convince the player to join them as a free agent in 2025.

Real Madrid are well-covered in the left-back position. Ferland Mendy impressed in that role last season and Fran Garcia has also done well as an alternative option.
