Benjamin Verbic has been on a career rollercoaster in recent seasons. After impressive scoring performances for Copenhagen he signed a lucrative contract with Dynamo Kyiv in 2018, and it all started well in Ukraine. But then came personal issues, injury problems - and then Russia’s invasion. He moved on loan to Legia in Poland before eventually sealing a permanent move to Panathinaikos in 2022. He hasn’t had as much game time in Athens under Fatih Terim as he would want, but remains a great asset at international level. He scored the decisive goal in the match against Kazakhstan to seal Euro 2024 qualification, and looks sure to play a big part this summer.
