Janza's best career period came at Maribor in 2015-16 - a season when the left-back stood out, playing in the group stages of the Europa League. He was already a Slovenian international at that time, but his status became uncertain in the years that followed as his club career dipped. It took him until last year to return to the international setup - and it proved a solid move by coach Matjaz Kek. A great fighter, Erik Janza gives everything and is also known for precision with free-kicks. He will be relatively unknown to opponents this summer due to his lack of prominent club career and recent international recall - but he’ll be hoping to make a big impression.
